organising and decluttering

Whether it's simplifying, decluttering, organising the home, filing paperwork or tackling the 'to-do' list that just keeps growing, it can be a daunting task, requiring time that you simply don't have to spare. Don't put it off any longer! We can do this together and make it enjoyable. Don't know where to start? Please drop me a line.

Let me help to:

  • set up practical systems to keep things manageable.

  • organise/declutter your:

living space: individual rooms/whole house, make room for a special occasion or prepare your home for rental or sale viewings.

storage spaces: cupboards, attic, garden shed or garage... free up space for your car!

home-office: reduce the piles of paperwork, scan your documents, archive digital or hard copies. Make your workspace functional and comfortable.

minimising before moving

When you move house or downsize (for whatever reason) it can be tricky to know where to begin. The irresistible temptation is to take everything with you (believe me, this is not the best solution!). It's easy to lose track of what we own and often have duplicates without even realising.

Cut back and organise before you move, taking only what you really need and love. It's a great opportunity to downsize for a fresh start and will save you money. Why pay to move and store things that you don't need to keep? Know what you own. Recycle, upcycle or donate.

Let me help:

  • assess and minimise your stuff before you begin to pack your boxes.

  • reduce your stress by packing and unpacking with you.

  • oversee the move.

helping parents downsize

Parents, aunts, great uncles, friends... Downsizing, whatever age, can cause stress and can be quite traumatic for older people, particularly if they have lived in the same house for many years and have accumulated a large number of possessions.

Struggling to manage tasks unaided, feeling a bit disorganised or simply wanting to live in a smaller space - these can be just a few of the reasons for downsizing. Organising such a big life change can be challenging, particularly if the person is on their own, or has no family close by to help.

I can work with them to achieve a smooth and happy transition.

Let me help by:

  • carefully listening and responding to their individual needs, at a pace that suits them.

  • sensitively guiding the selection of treasures they wish to keep and the items that they are happy to let go of.

  • steering them through the process of downsizing, so they are ready for their new lifestyle.

  • packing and unpacking for them.

  • settling them into their new surroundings more quickly, and finding ideal homes for their possessions.
